Project-44’s garden ministry operates from the donation of land to serve a community in need.
The garden ministry creates garden beds for people to lease for growing vegetables. It has been agreed upon to give a portion of the harvest to the local food bank and therefore providing the immediate community with fresh food.
The garden ministry seeks funds to purchase land and/or equipment (e.g. tractors and railroad ties) needed to turn these lots into viable gardening land. Five plots of land are owned to date, and one other has been built upon.
The inaugural garden, the SGM Amos F. Amos Memorial Garden, was named after a board member’s late relative. All of us in this ministry took pride in honoring the memory of SGM Amos with this garden.
